Light of the Silvery Moon

November 8, 2021

On a good night...
You can see... white flowers...
In the garden...
Reflecting the moonlight.

Yes... I think it is...
More... reflection...
Rather than... illumination...
Such as with... brighter light...
Such as... the sun light...
Or even... a yard light.

You can see white flowers
In the moonlight...
But not the pink...
And not the purple...
Not even the yellow...
Only... the white...
As color... becomes... only grey...
Or a misty blue...
As the moon
Casts darker shadows...
Mellow shadows...
That a rising sun...
That dawn's light...
Could never do...
That a hot sun
Would send all...
Even flowers...
Looking for the shade.

In my dream garden...
I would plant for the moon light...
Not just... sun light...
So that I could walk...
In a mystical world of moonlight...
When all is cool...
When all is at peace...
When the worries of the day
Are well behind me...
Walk in my garden...
And see pieces of beauty
Like I never could... ever could...
In the heat of the day.

More and more...
I've come to love the moonlight...
Love the moon...
Love the ever-changing moon...
Love the life of it...
As it casts lacey shadows...
And lets the white...
And the dew...
Reflect itself in peace...
A misty dream...
In the quiet of the flowers...
At the portal of a dream world...
That... isn't... a dream world...
But... that... perchance...
Reflects... the... dream.
