Go to the earth
So sad in passing
Yet... beautiful...
Part of the beauty.
We think of the earth as mortal
An enemy to fear and subdue
Its ways are ugly and merciless
Its creatures are predators
Its force is unyielding
And we must ultimately
Surrender to it.
Our minds and hearts have
Stripped it of its beauty
Its universal harmony
Its power to heal us
Its balance to all men and creatures
Its colors and music
Its smells and its wisdom
To be part of this harmony
A glory above all
To yield to its questions
An answer within it
And God is its Spirit
And rises above it.
