Deeper Than We Know

Life is lived deeper than we know.
How is it that this got so complicated...
When it was really such a simple thing...
Just...
Something only we would know.
So full of things that can't be said...
That had to be said...
We fell into that deep well
That was so full of everyone's
"What if's" and "where for's"
Like some kind of adultery.
Being tripped mid-step
And taking a not so graceful fall...
Things got twisted easily
With unknowns...
With knowns...
Until our gentle fears
Became real...
Fell into the well...
And took a deep, dark dive.
I remember saying to myself,
"This should have been beautiful."
When it really was...
We just didn't know it.
