Cyrus Ashley, 1887-1950; m. Ula Drinkwater 1909; 1 child
Cyrus graduated from Oregon State College in 1907 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Literary
Commerce. After graduation he was employed in banks as a teller before moving from Burnes
to Crane, OR. to open a general merchandise store. Many of his customers were big cattle ranchers
who carried a lot of credit until the yearly shipment of cattle. So when the depression hit, the
cattle country went broke, along with C.A. Harlan Merchandise Co. After that he was an auto
mechanic, establishing his own auto repair shop in Toledo, OR.
