The Lighthouse

1971

In the cold, blue tempest of the night
There came to shine a tender light
Just God knows how it dared to be
So troubled was the sky with sea.
I wander... I wander...

Yet, radiate it did at me
And I beheld it so consentingly
Though all around the rain would pour
I just didn't notice anymore.
I wonder... I wonder...

I blinked, and the light had disappeared
Yet, left behind no trace of fear
I stood... stilled... drenched with sea
Filled... the light a part of me.
I love you... I love you.
