Sorry For You

1992

I am... sorry for you
To have your dignity stolen from you
At such a young age.

I am... sorry for you
For the hard drop
The hard climb
Just to reach where you were.

I am... sorry for you
That your life was made crazy
That your dignity was so scarred
That your values were so lost there.

I am... sorry for you
That it sits in you like a thief
Never knowing what might have been
Never learning the true life
Having to climb back
To go back every day, perhaps
And climb back
To where your peace lies...
Maybe some day
Reaching where you should be.
