Port and Starboard

June 13, 2014

Ships on the sea...
That... we are.
And we are tossed by the sea
As we are pulled...
And as we are pushed...
By the winds.

And each of us will roll...
Towards the wrong...
Towards the wrong...
Time to right ourselves...
"Heave ho, mateys. Heave ho !!"
Til we regain our balance
And save our ship from catastrophe.

And then we will roll...
Toward the right...
Toward the right...
Where sun shines freely
And palm trees wave in the distance.
"Ahoy, mateys !! All is well. All is well."

Those who sail these seas
Know this truth...
That we bend to the whims of the sea...
Our ship... merely a rider upon it...
As it pushes us fore and aft...
Port... and starboard...
Adjusting our sails
As we ponder the stars...
Ponder the stars...
And weather the seas...
Up... and over...
Up... and over...
Right... wrong...
Right... and wrong...
But forward... forward we go
Until...
"Land ho, mateys... Land ho !!!"
