Dove

June 18, 2015

She waits...
For the quiet...
When things come to peace...
When the rasping squirrels
Pause...
In their rascally play...
To hide...
Before they scamper again
After each other
In a childlike game.

She waits...
For the still of wind...
To stand at a height
Over all that is
And coo her love to it all.

She waits...
For the quiet...
For things to find their peace...
Pausing... for the twittering birds
To finish their gossipy chatter...
To finish their trivial doings...
Going about their lives like they must do...
Pausing... when interrupted in her call...
Pausing...
For a light to break...
For a task to finish...
To... coo to the world.

She waits...
For the peace.
